Together with Ms Erin Tan, Poi Ching School’s English Club was brought back to life in 2009 with 21 members. Members were recruited from Primary 3 onwards. There were mainly two groups – the competitive and the leisure group. We had ice-breakers, games, quizzes and even had a chance to create a newsletter!
 

For the competitive groups, the pupils had to prepare themselves for various competitions, such as Scrabble and the East Zone Debate Competition. Even though only the competitive groups represented the school, the whole club help the representatives by brainstorming with them ideas for the debate and trained with them for the Scrabble competitions! One of our 3 teams even managed to qualify for the finals of the National Scrabble Competition!
