Chinese Dance
Poi Ching School Chinese Dance Group is a niche CCA. The Poi Ching School Chinese Dance Group was formed in 2003 and the International Dance Group in 2004. Since then, our dancers participated in many major events both locally and overseas to showcase their talents. They have won many hearts and fans with their colourful and multicultural performances that include both ethnic and modern dances.
The Poi Ching School Chinese Dance Group has also won numerous awards for their spectacular and brilliant dance performances. Under the brilliant instruction of Dance Instructress Mdm Lu Wei, the school was awarded the Gold for the Chinese International Dance Category at the SYF Central Judging in 2008, 2006, 2004 and 2003. The school was awarded the Gold (with Honours) for the International Dance Category at the SYF Central Judging in 2008 and 2006 and Gold in the year 2004 and 2003. In 2004, 2006 and 2008, Poi Ching School International Dance “Tenacity”, “Our Dreams” and “Striving Beyond” were selected to be the finale item for the closing ceremony of Singapore Youth Festival. In 2008, Poi Ching was awarded the Sustained Achievement Award for the excellent results in Aesthetics. In 2009, the school was awarded the Programme for School-Based Excellence – Dance.
Poi Ching Dance Club also organizes overseas exchange programme and activities like dance annual camp, workshops, public performance etc to hone the dancers' dance techniques and to forge bonds between members and at the same time promote team-building. In 2009, we introduced the ELITE Dance Programme to groom girls with outstanding dance performances to be the future elite dancers. ELITE Dance girls will be sent for oversea immersion programme.
Under the brilliant instruction of Dance Instructress Mdm Lu Wei, Poi Ching Dance girls will strive to be the ELITE dancers of Singapore.
